Relaunch Of "Think Bike" Signs In Move To Cut Motor Cycle Accidents In Norfolk And Suffolk
Apr 07 2006
A thought-provoking road safety campaign that aims to reduce the number of motorcycle-related accidents on Norfolk's roads during the coming summer months is being launched on Friday April 7.
More than 100 'Think Bike' signs will be unveiled on various stretches of roads and adjoining side roads in the coming weeks and stay in place for the summer season.
The County Council has joined forces with Norfolk Police and the Motor Cycle Forum in an effort to reduce casualties.
And for the first time, the initiative is spreading across the border into Suffolk where Suffolk County Council is adopting identical signing so that drivers and motorcyclists crossing county boundaries get the same message.
The aim of the joint campaign is to encourage drivers to think about the presence of motorcycles and motorcyclists to think about their overtaking plans and decisions.
